Statistical Software Developer

Metrum Research Group is seeking a full-time software developer to design, develop and document mathematical and statistical software for model-based data analysis and simulation used to support decision-making in drug development. This is an excellent opportunity to apply and extend your applied mathematics and software development skills while gaining exposure to cutting edge problems in the growing field of pharmacometrics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software packages for model-based data analysis and simulation used for pharmacometric applications
  • Develop and maintain components of Stan, a widely used, open-source, probabilistic programming language and Bayesian inference engine (http://mc-stan.org/)
  Requirements
  • Substantial experience with development of statistical or numerical analysis software using C++ or other object-oriented programming language, e.g., Java
  • Experience with statistical or other applied mathematical computation

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in a computer science or quantitative field with a strong applied math and science background. Candidates without a degree will be considered if they can demonstrate the requisite knowledge and experience, e.g., previous development of complex statistical analysis software.
  • Desirable: Programming experience with R, S-PLUS, Matlab, Python or similar high-level languages
