PKPD Scientist – Modeling & Simulation – (Europe)

About the Role
Metrum Research Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced PKPD Scientist (Modeling & Simulation) to join our collaborative, science-driven team. In this fully remote role, you will lead and support pharmacometric and systems pharmacology modeling efforts to inform drug development and clinical decisions.

You’ll work as part of agile, cross-functional teams, collaborate directly with clients, and contribute to the advancement of modeling and simulation methodologies in pharmaceutical research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the scientific lead on projects and primary point of contact for clients

  • Design and execute modeling and simulation analyses to support drug development and clinical trials

  • Provide expert consultation and technical guidance internally and externally

  • Prepare scientific reports, presentations, and publications

  • Mentor junior scientific staff and contribute to training activities

  • Collaborate within agile project teams to deliver high-quality scientific work

  • Contribute to project scoping, proposals, and generation of new business opportunities

  • Support the company’s broader scientific and strategic goals

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacokinetics, mathematics, statistics, biomedical engineering, or related discipline (or Master’s with equivalent experience)

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant post-graduate experience (10+ years preferred)

  • Proficiency with modeling and simulation tools such as NONMEM and Stan

  • Strong programming and statistical skills (e.g., R)

  • Experience in Bayesian data analysis is a plus

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within teams

  • Comfortable using internet-based tools and remote communication platforms

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with tools such as Shiny, Markdown, LaTeX, Unix/Linux, git, and subversion

  • Prior client-facing or consulting experience

  • Record of scientific publications or conference presentations
