Upstream Product Manager

Kat Orta joined Metrum Research Group in 2025 as an Upstream Product Manager, with over 15 years of experience spanning product management, enterprise IT, and emerging technologies. She has led global product launches and platform integrations across macOS, Windows, visionOS, iOS, and SaaS environments, with a focus on immersive technologies and AI-driven systems.

Prior to joining MetrumRG, she held leadership roles at large enterprise IT organizations, driving the integration of emerging platforms, launching self-healing intelligent diagnostics agents, and leading global deployments that supported millions of devices. Her background includes extensive expertise in automation, enterprise-scale device management, and cross-functional product development.

Kat began her academic journey in Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University before expanding into technology, earning certifications in product management, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, MDM), large language models, agentic systems, and generative AI. A lifelong student of linguistics, she has studied Hindi, Spanish, German, and Japanese. Guided by a commitment to healthcare and caregiving, she is also a certified wildlife rehabilitator.

She has presented internationally on topics ranging from Apple ecosystems to AI-powered platforms and is passionate about shaping innovative, human-centered technologies that drive scientific progress. With a sense of humor, a signature love of blue, and a soft spot for cats, Kat brings warmth and personality to her role at MetrumRG.
